Cultural Performance Subsidy - Julia Reserve

Camden Council recognises the values and strengths of the Camden creative community and its role in shaping Camden’s unique identity. A vibrant cultural community supports improved living standards, access to diverse local employment, and increased activity within Council facilities.

Council seeks to support Camden’s thriving cultural community through the Cultural Performance Subsidy for not for profit organisations to provide the community with musical or performing arts entertainment for young people within the  Julia Reserve Youth and Community Centre at Oran Park. 

The objectives are as follows:

  • To increase accessibility to the Julia Reserve Youth and Community Centre for not-for-profit community performance groups that support young people aged 12-24yrs;
  • To increase entertainment for young people aged 12-24yrs within the Julia Reserve Youth and Community Centre;
  • To enhance community awareness and involvement in cultural performances and heighten the profile of community performance groups; and
  • To enhance community wellbeing, sense of belonging through exposure to high quality cultural events and activities that are of interest to young people.

Successful projects must be completed January and June 2022.

Applications are open from 3 September to 1 October 2021 and can be made through the SmartyGrants portal. It is recommended applicants register for grant information sessions that will be held via zoom.
