About the Support for Special Achievers Program

The Support for Special Achievers Program is designed to assist gifted and talented individuals who live within the Camden Local Government Area (LGA).
The program provides a financial contribution to help cover costs associated with participating in:
- Cultural events
- Academic events
- Sporting events
The aim of the program is to recognise and support local excellence, while helping residents represent their community at higher levels.

Funding Available

Applicants may apply for funding based on the level at which they are representing:
- Representing NSW (State level):
  - Up to 10% of total participation costs
  - Maximum funding of $750
- Representing Australia (National level):
  - Up to 10% of total participation costs
  - Maximum funding of $1,000
Funding is intended to assist with event-related costs and is not guaranteed.

Application Timing and Limits

Applications are open year-round and can be submitted at any time during the financial year.
Each applicant is eligible to apply once per Council term (every 4 years).

Eligibility and Assessment

All applications are assessed against program eligibility criteria to ensure:
- A fair and equitable process for all applicants
- Requests are consistent and transparent
- Funding aligns with Council’s commitment to community well-being
Both monetary and in-kind support requests are considered under these principles.
