Introduction

About International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Celebrated annually on 8 March, the day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.

The broad objectives of IWD are to:

  • celebrate women's achievements
  • raise awareness about women's equality
  • lobby for accelerated gender parity
  • fundraise for female-focussed charities

Camden Council’s International Women’s Day Gala 2025

Camden Council’s IWD Gala evening will celebrate women’s achievements, especially local women, raise awareness of issues of women’s equality, and promote the message that we all have a role to play in accelerating the gender parity journey.

The event will be held on Thursday 6 March 2025 and take place at Gledswood Homestead & Winery. All proceeds from ticket sales of the event will be donated to a local charity or not-for-profit organisation whose services directly benefit residents of the Camden LGA.
