About the Donations for Charitable Purposes Program

The Donations for Charitable Purposes Program is designed to provide monetary and in-kind support to individuals, community groups and not-for-profit organisations within the Camden Local Government Area (LGA).

The program supports requests for charitable purposes, helping to meet immediate or short-term needs that benefit individuals or the broader community.

The aim of the program is to ensure a clear and consistent process for assessing requests, while supporting initiatives that align with community wellbeing and deliver meaningful outcomes for Camden residents.

Funding Available

Applicants may request monetary or in-kind support for eligible charitable purposes.

  • Funding is available up to a maximum of $1,000 per application
  • Both financial assistance and in-kind support may be considered
  • Funding is not guaranteed and is subject to assessment against program criteria

Application Timing and Limits

Applications are open year-round and can be submitted at any time during the financial year.

  • Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis
  • Applicants should allow up to 6 weeks for processing, as requests require assessment, internal approvals, and formal sign-off

Eligibility and Assessment

All applications are assessed against program eligibility criteria to ensure:

  • A fair and equitable process for all applicants
  • Requests are consistent and transparent
  • Funding aligns with Council’s commitment to community wellbeing

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • A clear charitable purpose
  • A direct benefit to individuals or the Camden LGA community
  • Alignment with program objectives and community need

Both monetary and in-kind requests are considered under these principles.
