Council recognises the contribution of individuals and locally based groups and organisations to the development of community spirit and the provision of community events.
This program is intended to provide encouragement and support to community based groups and organisations, based on the needs of such groups, by supplementing funds that groups themselves raise for their own activities either in-kind or monetary.
This application form is for Camden Council's Community Sponsorship Program.
Applications to this Grant can be made at any time from 10 August 2026 until Midnight 7 September 2026.
Council will consider all applications and determine successful requests in line with the eligibility criteria with all applications to be assessed on their merit provided all event and Council requirements are met.
ELIGIBILITY
- Applications will be considered from not-for-profit groups, businesses, organisations or individuals seeking to organise an event within the Camden LGA that has demonstrable benefit to the wider community.
- Festivals and special events that will enhance and promote community wellbeing, the lifestyle of residents and provide a service to the resident or business community of the Camden LGA.
- Events that encourage economic and/or tourism opportunities within the Camden LGA.
- Events that will be held between 1 January 2027 to 30 June 2027
- Events must be held in the Camden Local Government Area.
Successful applicants must sign and comply with a Sponsorship Agreement, which includes the requirement for:
- Acknowledgement of Council (including logo) equivalent to other similar amount sponsors and/or stated within Council's Sponsorship Agreement;
- The applicant to obtain and comply with all certificates and approvals required by law and within Council's event guideline timeline framework in order to hold the proposed event;
- Council to have the opportunity to display banners (if deemed appropriate) and as supplied by Council at events.
- Invitation extended to Council representative to be present where applicable.
- Sponsorship is not to vary from the purpose under which it was granted without the written approval of Council.
- An evaluation to be provided within three (3) months of the conclusion of the event.
ASSESSMENT
Applications will be considered by an allocation committee of Council Officers.
Funding priority for sporting events will be given to clubs with local affiliation,
Funding priority will be given to organisations or groups engaging local vendors.
Recommendations will be considered and endorsed by Council at an Ordinary Council Meeting.
The Community Sponsorship Program is a competitive grants program and while every consideration will be given to fund as many projects across as many different areas as possible, not every application can or will be funded.
Successful applications will be decided at the discretion of Council.
Please note any applicant with a submission for funding under consideration may not lobby Council Staff or Councillors to provide
funding for their submission either verbally or in writing.
Any applicant who does so will have their submission withdrawn from consideration for that round of funding with immediate effect.
